Rescom Air is a free referral service for AC and HVAC work in the Tampa area. That's it — there's no second business hiding behind it.
You tell us what your system is doing, we pass that to one licensed and insured HVAC contractor covering your part of the metro, and they contact you to arrange a visit, diagnose the system, and give you a written estimate at no cost. If you hire them, they do the work. If you don't, nothing happens.
That's the whole model. Our part's finished once the introduction is made.
What we don't do
Worth stating plainly, because a lot of sites in this category are deliberately fuzzy about it.
Rescom Air does not perform HVAC work. We don't employ the technician who comes to your house, we don't set prices or issue quotes or take payment for repairs, we don't pull permits, and we don't supervise the job or inspect it afterward. We don't warranty anyone's work or their parts. Not ours to warranty.
The licensed contractor does all of that, and your contract is with them.
We're specific about this for a legal reason as well as an honest one, and it's worth spelling out. Florida regulates air-conditioning contracting, and a business that isn't qualified to contract for that work has no business presenting itself as though it were. So we don't.
Why one contractor and not six
Send your details to a typical lead marketplace and they get sold to several companies at once, which is why your phone then rings for a week straight from numbers you don't recognize. It's a miserable experience. We don't do it.
Your request goes to one contractor. You get one call, from one company, about one estimate.
There's a tradeoff, and it's worth naming: with one referral you aren't automatically comparison shopping. On a large job — a full system replacement — getting three quotes is genuinely good practice, and we'd tell you to do that even though only one of them comes through us. On a $279 capacitor at 4pm in August, though, collecting three quotes is mostly a way to spend two days being hot in your own living room while you wait for callbacks. Use judgment. Big job, shop it; small job, fix it.
How to check the contractor yourself
Don't take our word for anyone's credentials. Check them yourself — it's quick.
License. Florida licenses air-conditioning contractors specifically. Ask for the license number and look it up through the state DBPR. Confirm it's current and that it covers the business doing your work, not just an individual loosely associated with it.
Insurance. Ask for a certificate of insurance, and pay attention to how they react to being asked, because a legitimate contractor won't hesitate for a second and will produce one without any drama at all. Hesitation tells you something.
Permits. For coil replacement or a full system changeout, ask who is pulling the permit. The answer should be the contractor, without hesitation.
Written estimate. Get the scope and price in writing before work starts. Anyone reluctant to put a number on paper is telling you something.
What we won't claim
There are a number of things this site deliberately doesn't say, and the absences are intentional.
We don't publish a star rating or testimonials, because we don't have a review inventory we'd consider honest to display. We don't promise same-day or 24/7 availability, because contractor schedules aren't ours to promise. We don't quote response times, and we don't advertise financing, coupons, or maintenance plans that we have no hand in administering and couldn't stand behind if something went wrong with them. And we don't claim technicians, trucks, tenure, or project counts, because we don't have any.
What we'll happily publish: third-party cost ranges with the source described, area-level housing and permitting facts, and the referral boundary itself.
The Rescom Air name
The Rescom Air name and the rescomair.com domain have a history in Tampa HVAC, and we operate the associated Google Business Profile.
What we don't do, and won't, is inherit that history's claims. No staff, tenure, credentials, project volume, or service capabilities from the prior operation appear anywhere on this site. The current service is a referral service. Presenting old contracting credentials as current ones would be exactly the kind of thing this page exists to rule out.

What if I have a problem with the contractor?
Raise it with the contractor first, since they hold the contract and the warranty. Tell us as well — we can stop sending work to a contractor who isn't handling things properly. That's the only real pressure a referral service has, and we'll use it.
