Sourced Tampa price ranges before anyone quotes your job
Ten areas, grouped by the permit office that applies when a job needs one.
City of Tampa South Tampa and New Tampa sit inside city limits. Permits and inspections run through City of Tampa construction services, and the city also provides the flood-map resources worth checking on any equipment placement decision.
Unincorporated Hillsborough County Westchase, Carrollwood, Citrus Park, Town 'n' Country, Brandon, and Riverview. The county publishes a list of work exempt from permits that covers much routine component replacement.
Temple Terrace Temple Terrace is a separate municipality running its own building and permitting services — neither the county nor the City of Tampa.
Pasco County Wesley Chapel is outside Hillsborough entirely, with its own permitting, inspections, and — importantly for replacement budgets — potentially a different electric utility and rebate program.

Why the jurisdiction split matters
For most repairs it doesn't. Swapping a capacitor or clearing a condensate line is minor work in every one of these offices.
It matters when the job grows. Coil replacement and full system changeouts normally require a mechanical permit and an inspection afterward, and that goes through whichever office covers your address. A contractor working across this metro deals with four different counters, and knowing which one applies before scheduling avoids lost days.
The contractor pulls the permit. Florida licenses air-conditioning contractors specifically, and you can verify any contractor through the state DBPR regardless of which area you're in.

The housing is not uniform
Grouping these areas as "Tampa" hides how different the equipment situation is across them. ACS housing data makes the spread obvious:
| Area | Built 2000 or later | Detached | 3+ unit buildings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wesley Chapel | 73% | 69% | 11% |
| Riverview | 71% | 74% | 10% |
| Westchase | 51% | 53% | 31% |
| Citrus Park | 40% | 60% | 23% |
| Brandon | 39% | 50% | 40% |
| Town 'n' Country | 20% | 51% | 30% |
| Temple Terrace | 14% | 42% | 47% |
| Carrollwood | 8% | 59% | 24% |
Read across that table and you get genuinely different service calls. Riverview and Wesley Chapel are newer detached housing where warranty coverage is a live question. Temple Terrace is nearly half multifamily, where the approval chain and closet access dominate. Carrollwood is older stock where ductwork is often the real story.
Town 'n' Country adds a manufactured-housing share around 10%, which changes the equipment itself.
None of this describes your specific property. It describes what a contractor is likely to encounter in the area, which is why the individual pages exist.

What stays the same everywhere
The climate. Cooling season runs roughly eight to ten months across all of it, with rainy-season dew points above 70°F and highs into the mid 90s. That drives the same failure list in every area: run capacitors, contactors, condensate clogs, refrigerant leaks, and motors reaching end of life.
Tampa Bay's lightning frequency drives grid surges metro-wide. Peak failure season is June through September everywhere, with tighter schedules and longer part lead times.
And the referral model doesn't change by address. Rescom Air passes your request to one licensed and insured contractor. They diagnose, quote, perform, and warranty the work. We don't.

Areas we don't currently cover
Being straight about the edges: we don't list Clearwater or St. Petersburg. There's real search demand in both, but our coverage doesn't reliably extend across the bay, and listing an area we can't serve wastes your afternoon.
If you're near a boundary, send the request and we'll tell you quickly whether we can place it.

Requesting service in any of these areas
Send your details — your area, the symptom, and your housing type. One licensed and insured contractor handles the diagnosis and gives you a free written estimate.
Service-specific pages: AC repair, AC installation and replacement, AC maintenance, commercial AC repair, and heat pump repair. Cost ranges are in the Tampa AC repair cost guide.
Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Which areas does Rescom Air cover?
Tampa proper including South Tampa and New Tampa, plus Westchase, Carrollwood, Citrus Park, Town 'n' Country, Brandon, and Riverview in unincorporated Hillsborough County, Temple Terrace, and Wesley Chapel in Pasco County. Each has its own page with the local detail.
What if I'm just outside these areas?
Send the request anyway and we'll be straight with you about whether we can match it. We'd rather tell you no quickly than take a request we can't place. We don't currently list Clearwater or St. Petersburg because our coverage doesn't reliably extend across the bay.
Why do you organize service areas by permit jurisdiction?
Because it genuinely matters on larger work. Four different offices cover this footprint — unincorporated Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Pasco County — and a coil replacement or system changeout typically needs a mechanical permit from the right one.
Do you charge differently in different areas?
Rescom Air doesn't charge at all — the referral and the estimate are free. Contractor pricing is theirs to set, and it varies more by the job and access than by which suburb you're in.
Can businesses in these areas request service?
Yes. Commercial requests route the same way, though the equipment and access questions differ enough that commercial AC repair has its own page.
